Indigo500 Series Transmitters

The Vaisala Indigo500 series transmitters are host devices for Vaisala Indigo-compatible, stand-alone smart probes. The transmitters offer many additional features to the Indigo probes. 

The Indigo520 transmitter can accommodate up to two probes measuring the same or two different parameters simultaneously. The Indigo510 supports one probe only. When it’s time for calibration, simply remove the probe, replace it with a new one, and send the removed probe for calibration without interrupting your process and reducing downtime.

The Indigo520 together with HMP1, HMP3, HMP9, HMP7 or TMP1 probes can be used for measuring barometric pressure, humidity, and temperature.

Both the transmitters are available with touchscreen displays made of chemically strengthened (IK08) glass for local data visualization. The transmitters also extend the options for connectivity, supply voltage and wiring, compared to using just an Indigo-compatible probe. Rugged IP66- and NEMA4-rated metal enclosures ensure reliable performance even in the harshest conditions.

The Indigo-compatible smart probes include humidity probes (HMP1HMP3, HMP4, HMP5, HMP7, HMP8 and HMP9), dew point probes (DMP5, DMP6, DMP7 and DMP8),  carbon dioxide probes (GMP251 and GMP252), moisture in oil probe (MMP8), temperature probe (TMP1), and vaporized hydrogen peroxide probes (HPP270). The Indigo500 series is also compatible with MHT410 Moisture, Hydrogen and Temperature Transmitter for power transformer online monitoring.

The Indigo520 dual-probe support allows simultaneous measurements with two Vaisala Indigo-compatible probes for humidity, temperature, dew point temperature, carbon dioxide, vaporized hydrogen peroxide, and moisture in oil measurements. If you need just one probe, the Indigo510 is an ideal choice.
Rugged design with metal enclosure
A metal enclosure with IP66 and NEMA4 classification makes Indigo500 series suitable even for the harshest conditions. The touchscreen is made of chemically strengthened glass, making it robust even in demanding industrial applications.
Analog and digital outputs
The Indigo520 transmitter has 4 analog channels that can be configured to mA or voltage type and 2 configurable relays. The Indigo510 has 2 analog channels. Any of the output parameters from the connected probes can be assigned to control the analog channels and relays. Digital output protocol is Modbus TCP/IP over Ethernet. Besides Modbus TCP/IP, the transmitter's Ethernet connection provides a web interface and cyber-security that meets the modern standards.
Extended power supply options
The Indigo500 also extends the power supply options of the Indigo-compatible measurement probes. The power supply option in Indigo510 is 10 … 35 VDC. The Indigo520 has multiple power supply options:
• Protected extra-low voltage (PELV) version: 15 … 35 VDC, 24 VAC ±20%
• Main power version: 100 … 240 VAC 50/60 Hz
• Power over Ethernet (PoE) version: 50 VAC PoE+
Time-savings and reduced downtime with plug-and-play design
Plug-and-play Indigo-compatible probes are easy to attach, ensuring fast installation. Probes can be attached into the transmitters by using a connection cable, which allows up to a 30-meter distance between the probe and the transmitter.

The plug-and-play design also allows easy swapping of the probes, when calibration or maintenance is needed. This saves time and reduces downtime.
