Ethanol (or ethyl alcohol) is a colorless liquid used in different industries, for example, such that produce antiseptics, antidotes, solvents, synthesis of chemicals, spirits, fuel, etc. 

Ethanol is most commonly produced by fermentation of biomass containing starch and sugars in the process of catalytic hydration of ethene.

Vaisala Polaris™ Process Refractometer is used to accurately measure and control the concentration of alcohol in water. Equipment with hazardous and intrinsic safety approvals is available when required.
