Bioethanol stillage processing

The remaining stillage or residues left from the distillation process contain nutrients, minerals and unfermented sugars. These are valuable by-products, providing an additional source of revenue as animal feed.

Decanting centrifuges mechanically dewater the spent grains carried in the stillage. Thin stillage, containing both dissolved and suspended solids, is produced as the centrate.

Vaisala K-PATENTS® Process Refractometer PR-43-GP provides accurate concentration measurement of the thin stillage and syrup products. The refractometer is installed in-line on both inlet and outlet streams of the evaporation station.
