Supporting safe and efficient offshore operations

Offshore wind farms, oil and gas platforms, naval missions, and helideck operations all face constant weather-related risks and operational challenges. AWS830 supports safe, efficient operations across this entire offshore landscape – from wind farms and production platforms to naval, research and icebreaking vessels, as well as floating platforms and offshore installations. By turning complex met-ocean conditions into clear, trusted intelligence, AWS830 helps your teams act with confidence, minimize weather-related downtime, and better protect people, assets, and missions.

Why choose Vaisala AWS830?

Enhanced crew safety and operational efficiency

Real-time, high‑quality weather and environmental data supports proactive safety decisions, better situational awareness, and reduced weather‑related delays. Operators can anticipate changing conditions instead of reacting to them at the last minute.

Regulatory compliance and cost control

AWS830 is maritime approved and compliant with relevant IEC and CAA standards, helping you meet regulatory requirements for Environmental and Helideck Monitoring Systems. Automated diagnostics and data validation support high data availability and help minimize maintenance visits and lifecycle costs.

Informed, data‑driven decision-making

Integrated sensors and seamless connection to Vaisala Elements Helideck Monitoring Software provide a complete picture of met‑ocean and helideck conditions. Real-time alerts and advanced visualization tools help teams make fast, well‑informed operational decisions.

Future‑proof, modular investment

The modular, scalable system architecture allows you to tailor and expand your setup as operational needs evolve. You can add new measurement capabilities, sensors, or integrations without redesigning the entire system, protecting your long‑term investment.

Optimized for multiple maritime applications

From naval, research, and ice‑breaking vessels to offshore installation and service vessels, floating platforms, and offshore substations, AWS830 adapts to a wide variety of offshore use cases with flexible configurations and integration options.

Engineered for harsh offshore environments

AWS830 delivers proven performance and high data availability in the harshest maritime conditions. It is available as an outdoor on‑deck unit or a server‑rack version for indoor equipment rooms. Outdoor version is designed and tested to withstand corrosion, vibration, shock, extreme temperatures, high humidity, and salinity. The system is maritime approved and compliant with relevant IEC and CAA standards for Environmental and Helideck Monitoring Systems, supporting offshore helideck classification and aviation requirements.

Comprehensive, modular measurement capabilities

Out of the box, AWS830 delivers core offshore meteorological and helideck parameters – including wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, air temperature, relative humidity, visibility, cloud height, and helideck motion – giving operators the essential data for daily marine and aviation decisions.

For more demanding use, it can be expanded with sensors for waves, currents and sea surface temperature. Remote wind profiling, lightning detection, and weather forecasts are supported via Vaisala Elements Helideck Monitoring Software.

AWS830 supports both Vaisala and selected third-party sensors, enabling integration with existing infrastructure and preferred technologies on a single, robust data platform.
