Liquid Measurements

Improve process visibility in peptide and oligonucleotide synthesis with real-time refractive index measurement.

Peptide and oligonucleotide manufacturing processes are highly repetitive, solvent-intensive, and increasingly dependent on reliable process analytical technology. In solid-phase peptide synthesis and oligonucleotide synthesis, each coupling, deprotection, and washing step changes the liquid-phase composition. These changes can provide valuable process information when they are measured continuously.

In this webinar, we explain how inline refractive index measurement can be used as a PAT tool to monitor liquid-phase concentration changes in real time. The session covers how continuous concentration measurement can help process development, PAT, CMC, and manufacturing teams

  • improve process understanding,
  • identify synthesis step endpoints
  • track washing progress, and
  • evaluate opportunities to reduce solvent consumption.

Join the webinar to learn how refractive index technology can support smarter process decisions from laboratory development to scale-up and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Tamara Murusidze Vaisala

Webinar Speaker: Tamara Murusidze

For more than 15 years, Tamara Murusidze has helped process engineers measure what happens inside their liquids, as it happens. She specializes in inline liquid analysis for biopharmaceutical and chemical pharmaceutical production, where real-time concentration data gives teams tighter process control and fewer surprises at the end of a batch.

At Vaisala, Tamara works with biopharma and life science manufacturers to apply inline refractive index measurement across development, scale-up and production. Before joining Vaisala, she was Product Manager in the Liquid Analysis Division at Tecnova HT. There she specialized in inline concentration measurement using refractive index, ultrasound velocity and optical methods, along with viscosity, turbidity and wastewater monitoring.

Her background spans both technical and commercial roles across Europe, so she understands the measurement physics as well as the realities of the production floor. Tamara holds a Professional Master’s Degree in the Commercialization of Scientific Instruments from Aix-Marseille University and a degree in Electronics from the National Technical University of Ukraine (Kyiv Polytechnic Institute).
