Vaisala’s CO2 instruments are very low-maintenance due to the stable technology, but there are different types of needs. The calibration interval and type should be decided depending on the needed requirements in the specific application. Before calibration, the probe is allowed to stabilize to the conditions of the laboratory. Carbon dioxide concentration is calibrated in the laboratory's permanent facility by comparing the instrument's carbon dioxide concentration reading to a generated reference carbon dioxide concentration reading in a calibration adapter. The measurement results are traceable to the international system of units (SI) through national metrology institutes or via ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration laboratories.
