What is new?

Indigo compatibility

Compatible with all Indigo transmitters as well as the Indigo80 Handheld Indicator. Indigo transmitters provide local display options including graph and trending views, additional outputs, local data logging, and alternative powering options like PoE+. The Indigo80 Handheld can be used for easy spot-checking and calibration. Learn more here.

Modbus RTU

Adds Modbus RTU over RS485 alongside standard current and voltage outputs for easy system integration.

Insight compatibility

Compatible with Vaisala’s free Insight PC software for user-friendly configuration changes, troubleshooting, and calibration adjustments.

M12 5-pin connector

Robust, industry-standard connection for secure connections in demanding environments.

On-site calibration adjustment

Enables users who can ensure stable, controlled conditions to perform calibration adjustments, with traceable factory calibration also available at Vaisala service centers.

Dew point-only option

Provides a dew point-only output parameter to ease replacement or alternative sensors and allow continued use of existing control set points.

Retired features / What else should I be aware of?

The following changes may affect how you use the DMT153 compared to the DMT152. In each case, alternative solutions or migration paths are available.

  • The DMT153 is not backward compatible with the discontinued MI70 Handheld Indicator. For portable use, the DMT153 is supported with the Indigo80 Handheld Indicator, which provides an up-to-date platform for field use and compatibility with other modern Vaisala probes.
  • When used as a standalone probe, the DMT153 offers one analog output channel. For applications requiring multiple analog outputs, the DMT153 can be combined with an Indigo transmitter to provide additional channels.
  • The DMT153 includes one rugged M12 5‑pin connector instead of the DMT152’s two M8 4‑pin connectors. The single M12 connector supports either analog or digital output, but a standalone DMT153 cannot provide analog output to a system and digital access to a handheld simultaneously. Using the DMT153 with an Indigo300 or Indigo500 series transmitter restores this capability by providing simultaneous analog outputs and handheld access via the transmitter service port.
  • The DMT153 is not offered with a UNF 5/8"-18 process connection. Available process connections are ISO G ½", NPT ½", and UNF ¾"-16. Additional installation options are available using Vaisala dew point sampling cells, which mate with the ISO G ½" process connection.
