Vaisala sponsors the My2050 mobile game about climate change. My2050 is an adventure game where you move around your surroundings. The game guides players from one checkpoint to the next, where player receive video messages and riddles from Niha, a girl from the 2050s. My2050 paints a picture of what our future may hold 30 years from now and what kind of actions and decisions we can make to have impact.

The game has previously been published in Helsinki, Espoo, and Tampere in Finland, and now it was launched also in Tikkurila, Vantaa. As a company located in Vantaa and focused on climate matters, Vaisala sponsors the game in Vantaa. Science, innovations, sustainability, as well as climate change mitigation and adaptation are at the core of Vaisala. Vaisala’s business and solutions are very much future-oriented: our customers use the accurate measurement data from our products to observe weather and the environment as well as to develop more sustainable and efficient industrial processes. In addition to our own positive handprint, we support the science and climate education of children and the youth.

“We wish to encourage curious youngsters into the field of natural sciences as well as increase understanding of the factors that affect climate change. Engaging projects, such as the My2050 game, are a great channel for sharing this message, and Vaisala is happy to be a sponsor. The climate change game enables children and the youth – as well as others – to relate to the factors that impact our future,” describes Nina Eklund, Director of Communications and Brand in Vaisala.
