ILDC/ILMC Scientific Committee

The ILDC/ILMC Scientific Committee is responsible for establishing the general topics for the conference, reviewing abstracts, identifying winners of the Krider Scholarship, and supporting the local organizing committee to invite keynote speakers and coordinate session chairs.

Krider and LPI Scholarships

The Krider Scholarship will be open for young scientists for the 2020 ILDC/ILMC. The scholarship will be awarded to two graduate students or young scientists below the age of 35, that submit a final paper and make an outstanding presentation at the conference. A cash award of 1000 USD will be divided among the two Krider Scholarship winners, as selected by the Award Committee. In addition, the winners will receive a certificate signed by Dr. Phil Krider.


The LPI (Lightning Protection Institute) Scholarship will be open for young scientists for the 2020 ILDC/ILMC. The scholarship will be awarded to a graduate student or young scientist below the age of 35, that submit a final paper and make an outstanding presentation at the conference. A cash award of 1000 USD - the LPI Scholarship winner, selected by the Award Committee. In addition, the winner will receive a certificate signed by a representative of LPI.

The International Lightning Detection Conference (ILDC) and International Lightning Meteorology Conference (ILMC) is scientific conference organized every two years focusing on lightning detection topics and meteorological applications for lightning data.
