Giant Leap is a project-based internship program offering a great chance to develop professional skills for students. The program is globally organized across Vaisala offices every summer. Projects The Giant Leap Program will offer projects in the following fields: Research and Development Work on the enhancement of the company products by figuring out their possible issues and potential advancement. Software Development Be involved in the improvement of different software platforms to solve company issues. Operations Development Find out potential solutions to enhance the good quality of customer order fufillment. Business and Sales Development Plan and conduct strategic activities to maintain and expand relationships with current and potential customers. Industrial Measurements: Industrial Measurements products help our customers fulfill regulatory compliance and improve quality, productivity, and energy efficiency. The products and systems are utilized to measure and monitor temperature, humidity, dew point, pressure, carbon dioxide, moisture in oil, and dissolved gases in transformer oil. Operations: Operations unit’s mission is to create value for our customers with a reliable and flexible supply chain network. The business includes teams of Strategic Sourcing, Demand and Supply Chain Management, Production Technology, and Quality & Operations Excellence. Global Support Unit: The unit supports the internal operations of the company. It consists of Finance, Human Resources, Communications, IT support, and Office and Facilities teams. Eligibility for the Giant Leap program? A 3+ year student actively pursuing a degree in a university or polytechnic school. A curious person who is eager to learn more and interested in solving meaningful challenges. We will hire up to 20 students, based on actual business needs. Does Vaisala offer long-term career prospects? Many of our employees began their careers at Vaisala as interns. An internship program is a good way of getting to know the company, its customers and business. After a successful internship, you may have the opportunity to continue your career at Vaisala.
