Taxes and Prices

All prices shown in the online shop are net prices and do not include tax. Applicable taxes will be added during checkout and shown clearly before you complete the order. All applicable taxes shall be borne by the customer. 

Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete billing information. If incorrect or incomplete details result in additional VAT or sales tax charges for Vaisala, those charges will be added to the order total as shown in the order confirmation. Please note that VAT or sales tax refunds are not available.

For customers in the United States:

Sales tax is automatically added to all orders during checkout. If you are tax-exempt, please email your exemption certificate to [email protected]. Once verified, you must place online orders while logged in to ensure the exemption is applied automatically.

Payment

We offer a range of payment options depending on your country and customer setting. These may include:

  • Bank transfer (pre-payment): You'll receive an email with our bank details shortly after placing your order. We will begin processing your order once we’ve received your payment.
  • International credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express
  • Invoice (30 days net): Requires a purchase order document. We may perform a credit check on new customers, which could slightly delay order processing.
  • Agreed payment terms: Available for logged-in customers in selected regions 

Delivery

Delivery fees depend on your location and the type of product ordered:

  • New instruments and spare parts: Shipped free of charge—no shipping or handling fees apply.
  • Service orders: May include a delivery and handling fee, except for returns related to warranty evaluation. This fee covers round-trip shipping for the serviced instruments and is calculated at checkout based on your region. 
     

We deliver according to DAP (Delivered at Place) terms, based on Incoterms 2020, which means delivery is directly to your specified address.

Vaisala selects the shipping carrier unless you choose the “use own carrier” option at checkout (available in selected regions). If we arrange the shipping, you’ll receive an email with a tracking number once your order has been dispatched. 

Delivery Time / Lead Time 

New products are made to order and shipped as soon as they’re ready. Typical delivery times for single units are shown on each product page in the online shop. Delivery times may vary depending on the quantity ordered. A more accurate estimate will be provided in your order confirmation once we have validated and processed your order. Please note that delivery times are subject to Force Majeure conditions as outlined in our General Terms

Service lead times

Typical lead times for small batches (1–5 units) are shown on the product or service detail pages. Lead times may vary depending on the size of the order. The estimated lead time will be confirmed in your order confirmation and is also subject to Force Majeure conditions. Please note that lead time refers to service processing only and does not include shipping time. 

Returns

If you receive a fully functional product that doesn’t match your order due to an error on our part, you may return it. In all other cases, new products cannot be returned, and Vaisala is not responsible for repurchasing or refunding returned items.

Warranty

All new products come with a standard 12-month warranty. Some selected products may be covered for up to 24 months or longer. Services are covered by a 6-month service warranty for the exchanged parts.

Only defective products that meet the warranty conditions outlined in our General Terms can be returned for warranty service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a quotation?

Yes. You can request an instant quote directly from the online shop. Just add items to your cart and select “Request a quotation”. You’ll receive the quote by email and can also print it.

Why should I register, and what are the benefits?

With a single account, you can access both MyVaisala and the Vaisala Online Shop. Registration is optional, but it gives you access to:

In the Online Shop:

  • Faster checkout with saved addresses
  • Use of agreed payment terms
  • Access to agreed pricing 

In MyVaisala:

  • View your order and quote history
  • Submit and track service requests 24/7
  • Access your service contracts and warranty returns

Note: MyVaisala is currently available in English only. 

To register, you must be a legal entity. However, registration is not required to request quotes or place orders. Register here 

How does service ordering work?

After placing a service order, you’ll receive return instructions on the order receipt page and by email. This includes the return address and, in some countries, a shipping label (RMA or waybill). You’ll also be guided on how to schedule a pickup with the shipping provider.

Who can purchase online?

We currently accept orders from legal entities only. Purchases from individual consumers are not supported.

Where is my order?

Once your order for a new product is placed, we’ll process it within two business days (when you pay by bank transfer, we will first wait for the funds to arrive in our bank). You’ll receive an order confirmation with an estimated delivery date. When your items are shipped, you’ll get a tracking number via email.
