Calibration services for Vaisala’s carbon dioxide measurement instruments are often requested due to regulatory compliance needs or the need for continuous precision. Why calibrate carbon dioxide measurement instruments?
Although Vaisala CARBOCAP technology enables exceptional stability and accuracy, regular calibration is recommended for demanding applications. Vaisala’s CO2 instruments are very low-maintenance due to the stable technology, but there are different types of needs. The calibration interval and type should be decided depending on the needed requirements in the specific application. The accuracy of the calibration is dependent on the used references, which is why it makes sense to order regular calibrations at a Vaisala Service Center. Our ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited Calibration service ensures regulatory compliance for your CO2 measurements.
How is a CO2 measurement instrument calibrated?
Before calibration, the probe is allowed to stabilize to the conditions of the laboratory. Carbon dioxide concentration is calibrated in the laboratory's permanent facility by comparing the instrument's carbon dioxide concentration reading to a generated reference carbon dioxide concentration reading in a calibration adapter. The measurement results are traceable to the international system of units (SI) through national metrology institutes or via ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration laboratories.
