This paid internship is the perfect platform for you to showcase your skills and passions as you take ownership of your own project. And even if our space-proof measurement technology operates on two planets, you would be based right here on Earth.
Every Giant Leap project is unique and carefully selected to ensure genuine validity for our business and your learning. Projects arise from various areas within our organization: next summer you could be leading a project in software development, process engineering, communications, or machine data analysis, to name a few.

Giant Leap projects 2027
Big opportunities are on the horizon.
Vaisala's Giant Leap internship projects for summer 2027 will be published by the end of the year, and the application period runs from mid-January to early February. Once the projects are live, we hope you'll find one that matches your interests and ambitions and apply to take a Giant Leap in your career.
Learning and development
We invest in your growth and organize a set of trainings throughout the summer to support your internship journey and project. Along with lessons from your own field, you will learn, for example project management, presentation skills and team work.
During the summer, you will meet and connect with Vaisala professionals from our diverse teams and participate in summer activities with other Giant Leap trainees. As a Giant Leaper, you become a valued member of a team and get a mentor to support you throughout the program.

At Vaisala, the Giant Leap internship is more than a summer job. It’s a launchpad. Every year, the program brings curious, ambitious students into real R&D, engineering, and business projects. And sometimes, those interns don’t just leave with experience. They come back.

Eligibility for Giant Leap
Giant Leap internship program is open to students who are actively pursuing a degree in a university or polytechnic school, and are fluent in both spoken and written English.
The exact skills and background we look for depend on the project, but we always value curious team players who are eager to learn, ask questions and explore new ideas. Many of our projects are especially well suited for students in the later stages of their studies.
When applying for a project, applicants are expected to hold a valid work permit in the country they are applying to.
