We’ve been included in the second edition of World’s Best Companies – Sustainable Growth ranking by TIME Magazine and Statista. From over 3000 companies assessed, 500 were selected for the final ranking based on revenue growth, financial stability, and taking care of the environment.

Vaisala ranked 107th in the overall list and 9th in its category of Engineering, Manufacturing & Medical Technology globally. From companies headquartered in Finland, Vaisala was ranked first.

The recognition comes at a time when experts sound the alarm on increasingly urgent climate warnings, making sustainable business practices more critical than ever. It also reinforces our belief that measurement technology and environmental leadership go hand in hand. You can't manage what you don't measure, and accurate data drives better decisions for both business and the planet.

How the study works

TIME and Statista evaluated companies across three key dimensions: revenue growth, financial stability, and environmental impact. Each dimension carries equal weight, meaning companies need to demonstrate they can grow responsibly without sacrificing profitability.

Companies were evaluated on their revenue growth from 2022 to 2024, financial health using metrics like long-term profitability, the Piotroski F-Score and Altman Z-Score, and key performance indicators in environmental impact, including carbon emissions (scopes 1, 2, and 3), energy and water usage, and waste management.

One notable requirement: only companies that transparently disclose their environmental data are considered for inclusion. This helps ensure companies are making genuine progress rather than just talking about it.
