Detergents Blending (Floor Wax)

Product quality control in detergents blending process

Household detergents such as floor waxes, furniture waxes, deodorants and shampoos are typically manufactured in a batch process.
The liquid floor wax is produced by blending solids (polymers) with volatile carriers (water and acids). The volatile carriers will evaporate after use. The ratio between these two components must be closely controlled to obtain a consistent product quality.

The Vaisala Polaris™ process refractometer measures continuously the percent of dissolved solids in the liquid wax product. The refractometer provides Ethernet and 4-20 mA output signals that can be used for automatic control of the blending operation.
