Vaisala announces agreement to acquire CLH Inc in the USA

CLH specializes in installing and maintaining AWOS, related communications, displays and pilot briefing systems. The company has focused on the growing need for state weather networks and automated weather observing systems. Serving airports across the United States, CLH is responsible for maintaining over 200 systems and providing communication services to over 400 AWOS locations. CLH was established in 1995 and employs 21 people. Net sales in 2004 were 3.7M USD.
The Vaisala Aviation Weather business unit in Boulder, Colorado manufactures a complete line of automated weather observing systems approved by the Federal Aviation Administration. CLH's products and services compliment the Vaisala systems. Combined, Vaisala Aviation Weather and CLH will be able to offer the US customers a turnkey solution for AWOS from initial purchase through the life of the product.
With the CLH stock purchase, Vaisala will also acquire a 2/3 share of WSDM Technologies LLC. The company specializes in airport weather support systems that provide real-time nowcasts of snowfall events and conditions supporting aircraft deicing decisions.
