In the causticizing process, passive chemicals primarily comprised of sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) are converted into the active cooking chemicals, mostly sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and sodium sulfide (Na2S). The result is White Liquor which is used in the digester as cooking chemical and must be of a high and consistent quality to maximize mill productivity.

 

To ensure high quality, consistent, and strong White Liquor that will improve mill productivity, accurate and continuous measurements of Green Liquor density or Total Titratable Alkali (TTA) are needed.

 

Reliable, real-time TTA/density measurements and control during the causticizing process:
