The following information contains answers to frequently asked questions. If you cannot find an answer to your question, contact Vaisala Technical Support.

Beacon Station includes EGW501 gateway that has a radio module inside. The EGW501 radio module has the following radio approvals in the following countries:
The global SIM card provided by Vaisala is integrated in the gateway and the SIM card lock is disabled by default.
The battery in the power supply unit PSU501 may be fully discharged due to, for example, long storage time or extreme environmental conditions. In solar-powered sites, the battery may be discharged because the solar panel has not received enough sunlight.
If the battery is fully discharged, PSU501 does not provide enough power for EGW501 to start the station. You have to wait until the battery reaches a sufficient state of charge.
After that, EGW501 starts automatically and the Beacon Station is operational.

You have received an email titled Welcome to MyVaisala. The email contains a login button. When you log in for the first time, you are asked to give new password.
If you fail to do this in 7 days after receiving the email, the first-time setup expires and you need to contact Vaisala Technical Support at www.vaisala.com/en/support to activate your username.
If you already are a My Vaisala user, go to https://wxbeacon.vaisala.com and log in with your existing My Vaisala credentials.

There may be several causes. Check the cable connections and that the device is getting power. In first-time use, there may be a 15-minute delay in data reaching Wx Beacon.

Beacon Station does not require regular maintenance.

No. When replacing your AQT400 series instruments with the new AQT530, please replace also the MOG100 gateway with EGW501.
If you have functioning powering solution in place for a current MOG100 installation, the same solution most probably can be used for the new system.
EGW501 replacement service is available starting from 1.10.2021. However, local regulatory approvals may slightly delay the availability. Please contact your local sales representative for the details.
No, the AQT400 series is not compatible with EGW501. Please replace also the AQT with the new AQT530.
Not directly, as the interface configuration for EGW501is different. The WXT536 in question can be reconfigured or returned to Vaisala for reconfiguration.
No. The historical data can be downloaded from the Beacon Cloud application until 30.3.2022.
WX Beacon provides a similar API. You can access the data in the same way after updating your data requests to match the new API parameters.
