This week's blog comes from product manager Jon Aldous.

Jon writes: The diagram below is the inside of one of our newest products, the HMT140 Wi-Fi data logger. This logger combines with viewLinc 4.1 to provide truly wireless monitoring and alarming for relative humidity, temperature, switch contact, voltage and current in GxP environments.

We created this device working off a "wish list" we received from many customers who wanted simplicity and reliability in a wireless data logger.  We asked: "what do you really NEED a wireless device to do?" and they asked for several things:

  • We need to be able to move my chambers with the devices.
  • We need to be able to move the devices to other applications, quickly and easily.
  • We need to be measure multiple parameters with the same device.
  • We need a device that has autonomous power and memory, so I don't need to wire power or Ethernet.
  • We need to be able to use it in a cleanroom.
  • We need to be able to calibrate it in the field.
  • We need an all-singing, all-dancing, wireless data logger that will blow the socks off our inspectors/auditors and make our quality system shine!

Ok...  they didn't exactly request that last bullet point, we added that one! In the end, we managed to fulfill the wish list we were given, and then some. I am therefore thrilled to lift the hood on this new logger and give you a visual tour of some of the features...

To learn more, you can view our Common Configurations document and the HMT140 Quick Start Guide (like the viewLinc software itself, the Quick Guide is available in English, German, French, Japanese and Chinese.)
