Upgrade and maintenance agreement

Vaisala continuously develop further the aviation weather systems, add new features, enhancements and improvements (sensors, calculations, reports, displays, data outputs etc.), that can be added to the system along with the latest software upgrades. In order to keep operational systems up-to-date and running smoothly the System Software Maintenance Agreement has optional modules that provide maintenance for system software at agreed intervals.

The System Software Maintenance agreement provides assistance for daily operational routines with the following standard modules:

  • New Software upgrades will be delivered automatically to the Customers under the maintenance agreement in order to keep the system running and up-to-date with latest ICAO / WMO recommendations and control costs better during the life cycle.
  • Configuration Management service maintains a backup of the initial setup of the delivered system at Vaisala factory. These software modules can be easily reproduced for example in case they are damaged (e.g. due to the hard disk failure) at later stage.
  • System Demonstration includes simulation and verification of the system for the software upgrade procedures, while software upgrades are typically completed in operational airports. In order to avoid surprises, the upgrade procedures should be agreed well in advance and verified thoroughly.
