The Vaisala DigiCORA® Sounding System with the new Vaisala Sounding Processing Subsystem is a sound foundation for observing weather in the upper atmosphere. It gives the meteorologist comfortable control over the sounding process by integrating sounding control, the archiving of sounding data, and meteorological message creation with the desired balance of manual vs. automatic control.
The Vaisala DigiCORA® Sounding System MW31 is the latest generation of the DigiCORA® Sounding System. The system software now produces the new WMO specified BUFR messages. This new feature enables users to follow the WMO's recommendation to move from traditional alphanumeric codes to binary BUFR coding.
The new system is based on the Sounding Processing Subsystem, which features new software-defined radio technology. The combination of the Vaisala Radiosonde with code-correlating GPS and DigiCORA® offers the world’s highest level of PTU measurement performance and continuous wind data availablity.
The typical Vaisala DigiCORA® Sounding System configuration provides a wide range of options covering manual vs. automatic weather message editing, wind-finding, radiosonde ground check sets, special measurements and radiosondes.
