Vaisala Radiosonde RS92
The New Shape of Upper-Air Weather Observation is
composed of the Vaisala Radiosonde
RS92 family, the Vaisala DigiCORA® Sounding System MW21 and
DigiCORA® sounding software.
The RS92 models now available all work in
the 400 MHz meteorological band. They are the Vaisala
Radiosonde RS92-SGP with code correlating GPS wind-finding,
the Vaisala Radiosonde RS92-KL with Loran-C windfinding and
the Vaisala Radiosonde RS92-K, the PTU-only model, which
requires e.g. radar wind-finding. The 1680 MHz models will soon be available to
complete the family.
As a CAL-4 calibrated radiosonde, the RS92 offers
national meteorological services the world’s highest level of PTU measurement
performance. Furthermore, the new code correlating GPS technology of the
RS92-SGP will support national upper-air programs with continuous wind data
availability at high resolution.
