Vaisala IceCast IceUpdate
IceUpdate
IceUpdate is the communications
component of the Windows IceCast suite; it provides a fast and
efficient means of transferring data from an IceCast server (or
the Global Bureau) to a local workstation.
Key Features:
Uses a Dial-up connection via a modem to
collect data.
Can be used over an analogue phone line or a
mobile connection.
Collects data for up to 14 days.
Can be scheduled to automatically update as
well as manually instigated.
Collects the latest configuration / map files
as well as sensor / forecast data.
Displays the number of records
downloaded.
IceNetUpdate
IceNetUpdate utilizes an
Internet-based connection to download the data negating the need for a Dial-up
connection and modem. It creates a secure SSH tunnel over the Internet, through
multiple firewalls between the Global Bureau and a
local machine.
IceNetUpdate is at its most efficient
using a permanent networked Internet link. IceNetUpdate
can also download data once a machine is connected to an independent Internet
Service Provider (ISP) via a dial up modem.
