IceUpdate

IceUpdate is the communications component of the Windows IceCast suite; it provides a fast and efficient means of transferring data from an IceCast server (or the Global Bureau) to a local workstation.


Key Features:

  • Uses a Dial-up connection via a modem to collect data.
  • Can be used over an analogue phone line or a mobile connection.
  • Collects data for up to 14 days.
  • Can be scheduled to automatically update as well as manually instigated.
  • Collects the latest configuration / map files as well as sensor / forecast data.
  • Displays the number of records downloaded.


IceNetUpdate


IceNetUpdate utilizes an Internet-based connection to download the data negating the need for a Dial-up connection and modem. It creates a secure SSH tunnel over the Internet, through multiple firewalls between the Global Bureau and a local machine.

IceNetUpdate is at its most efficient using a permanent networked Internet link.  IceNetUpdate can also download data once a machine is connected to an independent Internet Service Provider (ISP) via a dial up modem.
