Vaisala IceCast IceAlarm

IceAlarm is an easy-to-use application module that complements the IceCast software suite. It offers a user-configurable method of generating alarms based on pre-defined criteria. Alarms are generated in both audible and visual form.

The application can run on a Windows based IceCast IceView workstation, usually in a 24 hour manned environment. It is important that IceAlarm always has constant access to the sensor database.

Individual alarm conditions can be set for: -

  • Rising values (e.g. wind gust speeds)
  • Falling values (e.g. road/runway surface temperatures)
  • Values which equal a particular setting (e.g. 'Ice')
  • Values which are missing from the data received from the weather station

There is also the facility to enable the user to set the level at which these alarms ‘re-alarm’ themselves. This facility means that once an alarm has occurred it will not keep repeating itself unnecessarily.

In addition, the PC loudspeaker (or sound card) is triggered so as to simultaneously generate an audible alarm tone.
