Global Bureau Service

All IceCast sensor and forecast data from across the world is ingested within the Global Bureau. Here it is quality checked and made available to customers.

ROSA road weather station

The ROSA road weather station (RWIS / ESS) gathers real-time weather and surface data. Incorporating atmospheric and surface sensors, present weather detectors and cameras, the ROSA stores and transmits data to an IceCast Server or to the Vaisala Global Bureau.

Weather Cameras

Vaisala Traffic Weather Cameras provide a visual snapshot of road and atmospheric conditions.

Thermal Mapping and Route Optimization

Vaisala Thermal Mapping identifies temperature differences throughout the network. Vaisala Route Optimization provides a consultancy service to assess winter maintenance and service practices, identifying the most efficient and effective treatment operations.

Display Software

The Vaisala IceCast software suite provides the winter service engineer with an array of highly configurable, user friendly tools to make and plan their management decisions. These products can be used as stand-alone modules or integrated together as part of a larger system.

Forecasting

Working in partnership with local forecast providers, Vaisala can provide 24 hour forecasts or short-range NowCasts for specific road weather stations (RWIS) showing predicted road surface temperatures and conditions.
