Vaisala Remote Maintenance Monitoring and Management - RM3

RM3 is an automated system that provides data on AWOS sensor failures and communication performance statistics via the Web.  It operates reliably 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to bring data to the user in an easy to understand format.  The data can be accessed through this webpage and is password protected. 

RM3 is an automated tool for airport managers and state DOT offices.  AWOS observations are captured in the Vaisala Network Operations Center as they are received from the National Weather Service (NWS) and the FAA.  The observations are then decoded and examined for sensor failures.  If a sensor failure is reported, an error report is created and posted to the website.  Additionally, all METARS generated by the AWOS within the past 24 hours are stored on the website for recall.

RM3 allows our customers to actively monitor their AWOS network and verify that the system and sensors are functioning correctly.  This Internet based system is not hampered by the availability of personnel during office hours.  The information is always available through the Internet and retrievable whenever it is convenient.  RM3 allows an AWOS program manager to monitor his network performance, manage his contractor’s performance, and collect historical data for the AWOS.
