Vaisala donates weather stations to Finnish schools

Vaisala Oyj announces that it will donate weather stations to secondary and senior secondary schools on the basis of applications. The weather stations measure a number of parameters, such as air temperature, humidity and barometric pressure.

Vaisala has decided to donate a total of 20 weather stations (type Vaisala MAWS) to secondary and senior secondary schools. Vaisala wants to encourage young people to study mathematics and science, and thereby to improve their chances of working for high technology companies in the future.

All the above mentioned schools in Finland are encouraged to submit an informal application, indicating why they think they should receive a donation. Please send your applications by 30 March 2001 to: Vaisala Oyj, Ms Nina Andersin, P.O. Box 26, FIN-00421 Helsinki. For more information, please contact Ms Tiina Hansson, Director of Corporate Communications, tel. (09) 8949 2728.
