The Vaisala Group has signed a contract with the Polish National Meteorological Services to supply fifty Automatic Weather Stations. Deliveries under the contract, which is valued at MEUR 1.2, will take place in 2002. The weather station project in Poland is financed by the World Bank.
The Vaisala MAWS301 Automatic Weather Stations (AWSs) will measure wind, pressure, temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation and precipitation. The Weather Stations of this delivery will be equipped with an extended optical sensor suite that will also measure present weather, visibility and cloud height. The delivery includes a data collection and storage software, that collects, manages and stores the measurement data from the AWS network.
