Deadlines

- Abstracts due 14 December 2009, submit your papers to ILDCsubmit2010@vaisala.com
- Acceptance notification will begin the week of 11 January 2010
- Final papers due 26 February 2010

ILDC will provide a valuable forum for the discussion of lightning physics, lightning network performance, and innovations in the field of lightning detection. All scales from global to local lightning detection are appropriate. Topics will include recent detection research findings that lead to real time uses for lightning data’s impact on society such as electric power distribution and transmission and telecommunications performance.

ILMC will provide a valuable forum for discussion of all cloud-to-ground and cloud lightning applications that impact society. This includes many hydrometeorological applications, such as

- nowcasting and forecasting
- lightning data assimilation into numerical weather prediction models
- thunderstorm growth and dissipation
- severe weather
- tropical cyclones
- hydrology

In addition, ILMC will expand to also include the following topics

- lightning safety
- airport/airbase lightning warnings
- wind farm lightning warnings
- forestry
- aviation and maritime routing
- public safety

Pre-conference check in Sunday, April 18th from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Combined registration fees are USD $350.00 on or before 26 February 2010 and USD $425 on or after 27 February 2010 and include the following:

- Dual conference proceedings materials
- Monday to Thursday: AM/PM Breaks – Lunch on your own
- Monday: Welcome reception at Buena Vista Palace
- Registration fee does not include travel or hotel

ILDC Registration Only (19 - 20 April 2010)

Registration fees are USD $200 on or before 26 February 2010 and USD $250 on or after 27 February 2010 and include the following:

- Registration fee does not include travel or hotel

ILMC Registration Only (21 - 22 April 2010)
Conference check in 21 April from 7:00 am – 8:30 am
Registration fees are USD $200 on or before 26 February 2010 and USD $250 on or after 27 February 2010 and include the following:

- Wednesday - Thursday: AM/PM Breaks – Lunch on your own
- Registration fee does not include travel or hotel

Student pricing

- Full Conference USD $200 on or before 26 February and USD $275 on or after 27 February
- ILDC or ILMC Only: USD $125 early bird and USD $200.00 on or after 27 February

Refund Policy

- Conference cancellation reimbursements are 50% of paid registration fee prior to 22 March 2010
- No refunds for cancellations made after 22 March 2010 and for conference no-shows

Disney Epcot® Dessert Reception evening event (optional)

Tuesday April 20 at 7:45 pm.

Plan to join us for a private dessert reception at Epcot®’s United Kingdom Lochside promenade where we’ll view the evening finale, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth fireworks show. You will enjoy a front-row presentation of this premier nighttime spectacular while sampling all of the best desserts from childhood.

Transportation to and from the hotel will be included in the price of $50.00 per person. You can either ride over to Epcot® with the ILDC/ILMC group at 7:45 pm or purchase an “After 4 pm” park ticket for $48.00 and enjoy the park beforehand and join us for the reception and ride back to the hotel. General complimentary transportation to Epcot® is available from the hotel.
