Demand Controlled Ventilation and Indoor Air Quality

In DCV applications ventilation is applied only when needed. It is especially useful in places where occupancy varies widely, such as schools, conference centers, and auditoriums. Increasing levels of carbon dioxide in a space indicate the presence of people and can be used to control ventilation. CO2 is also a surrogate measurement for indoor air quality.

Initial accuracy to be ±3% RH between 10 and 90% RH at 20°C (68° F) with a temperature dependence <±1.5% throughout the temperature measuring range. Sensor to have a stability of ±2% RH over a two year period, and a 90% response time in 15 seconds. Transmitter shall operate over a humidity range of 0…90% RH and a temperature range of -5° to 55°C (+23° to +131° F). Transmitter to be powered by 12 to 35 VDC or 12 to 24 VAC, consume not more than 6 mA, and provide a linear output signal of 0 to 1 V corresponding to 0…100% RH or be powered by 15 to 35 VDC or 15 to 35 VAC, consume not more than 6 mA, and provide a linear output signal of 0 to 10 V corresponding to 0 to 100% RH.  Temperature sensor shall be a platinum 1000 RTD with a linear output of 0 to 1 V or 0 to 10 V corresponding to -5° to 55°C (23° to 131°F) with an accuracy of ±0.3°C ( ±0.54°F) at 25°C.
