Jon Aldous 

Jon Aldous

Jon Aldous is the Product Manager for Vaisala’s Life Science Division. His background is in Electronics and Electrical science and he holds a Bachelor of Engineering. He lectured at the University of the West of England, teaching Digital and Mechanical Engineering and was involved with the development of poly-silicon micro structures for use within thermopiles and intelligent data acquisition sensors. After immigrating to the US, he worked for 12 years with Kaye Instruments as Product Manager developing that company’s thermal validation systems. He later joined Veriteq Instruments, which was acquired by Vaisala in 2010. The acquisition has enabled Aldous to expand his role into both software and hardware product management for life science applications.

Piritta Maunu

Piritta Maunu

Piritta Maunu is a Regulations Expert in Vaisala Life Science. She has long experience in biotechnology, having worked in several quality management positions for FIT Biotech. Maunu holds a degree of M.Sc. (Cell Biology) and is certified to teach with a specialty in General Biology. In her role at Vaisala, she creates informational content and marketing materials for life science customers. Additionally, she provides training through webinars and seminars to both internal groups at Vaisala and to industry contacts. Finally, Maunu helps Vaisala product development teams maintain a customer’s view of life science-related products and services.

Paul Daniel

Paul Daniel, Senior Regulatory Compliance Expert at Vaisala, has 17 years of validation experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, and has worked on a wide range of qualification projects, including process, cleaning, shipping, laboratory equipment, packaging, software, network, and computer validation, and extensive practical grounding in applying the good manufacturing practices principles of the FDA 21 CFR Parts 11, 210, 211, and 820, and authoring and executing validation protocols for pharmaceutical manufacturing and software validation with a risk-based approach drawn from GAMP guidelines. Daniel has a bachelor’s degree in biology (with honors) from the University of California, Berkeley.

Janice Livingston 

Janice Bennett-Livingston

In addition to editing the Vaisala Life Science blog, Janice Bennett-Livingston is a Life Science Marketing specialist for the Americas in Vaisala's Controlled Environments business area. Her writing credits include a monthly column called "Research Watch" for all of 2007 in Canada's award-winning magazine alive, as well as articles in Canadian Living magazine and multiple periodical publications in the health and fitness genre. She worked for several years as a communications consultant to the British Columbia Child & Family Research Institute where she learned to love interviewing SMEs in health research. Her other work at the CFRI included ensuring several rounds of the institute's "Mini Med School" lecture series played to a full house.
