Questions & Answers

Q: What is the Operating temperature range?
A: The operating temperature range for AWS310 is -40 ... +60 °C.

Q: Will AWS 310 be a good solution for measurements in the Arctic environment? (low temperatures, polar night)
A: Vaisala weather stations have been delivered and installed in Antarctica, the Arctic and Greenland.

Q: Could the number of RS232 PORTs be extended? What would be the maximum?
A: Maximum number of RS-232 ports in AWS310 (with customization) is three ports (RS-232, 3-wire).

Q: Can it be programmed over the air?
A: Yes, the user can configure AWS310 remotely. In addition, AWS310 has an Automatic Setup Update which enables centralized management of the logger setup files (.adc/.dtg) and efficient distribution of the setups to the observation sites.

Q: Is it possible to use MCC301 to generate automatically METAR / SPECI reports? Or is AWS301 responsible for generating those kinds of reports?
A: Both solutions are doable. However, making METAR / SPECI reports will be a customization work.
