​​In recent years, weather radar has advanced greatly and has played increasingly important roles when detecting and warning of different weather phenomena such as storms including hail, tornadoes, hurricanes or heavy winds. Weather radar also monitors larger weather systems and contribute to flood warnings by monitoring of rainfall intensity. Radar measurements have enables us to understand the atmosphere and do better weather predictions – and better weather forecasts.
