In the 2005 organization structure, the sales units belonged to specific business units. In June 2005, the decision was taken to organize the sales units according to specific customer segments. The new organization became effective on January 1, 2006.

As of January 1, 2006, each Vaisala Segment Sales Unit promotes sales to a specific Vaisala customer segment. Segment Sales Unit teams are able to develop a thorough understanding of customer applications and operating practices, and provide easy access to Vaisala's services.
