What is (W)LAN and which applications can benefit from it?

Local area network (LAN) is a group of computers and associated devices that share a common communications line. The network can also be wireless (WLAN). Ethernet is the most commonly used LAN technology.

There is a large amount of industries and applications that can benefit from Vaisala's LAN/WLAN products. Where ever humidity, moisture in oil or dewpoint needs to be measured, this new option can be considered. For measurements in HVAC ducts, freezers, refrigerators, outdoors or other harsh environments, a wireless network can be especially helpful.
